Story Setting: 1935, London, Cairo.
Characters: Rick, Evie, Jonathan, Maya, Imhotep, Ardeth Bay

Storyline:

Five years after the horrifying awakening of the Scorpion King, Rick and Evie are now peacefully living in London with their son Alex. Evie now works as the head curator of the British Museum, overseeing an archaeological excavation at Cairo. Jonathan who with the huge diamond has devoted himself into finding more treasures, underneath the archaeological “idea”, funds the excavation. Jonathan now lives in Egypt with a beautiful Egyptian wife, he had fell in love with during his explorations. Her name is Tahillah, and for three years they had lived together happily and produced two equally charming daughters.

Now in London, Evie discovers something in her readings about the place where Jonathan is doing his digging, something about a mummy’s curse that was set on that area. While debating with Rick into going to Egypt, they received a telegram with the most shocking news… Jonathan’s two daughters had died. The O’Connell’s didn’t waste anytime and boarded a plane to Egypt. Jonathan is devastated and if not for Tahillah, he could have gone mad. Evie as a loving sister carefully oversees everything for Jonathan… the excavation, the burial, and his home. 2 days after the girls’ funeral, Jonathan came rushing again into their arms… this time, with the news of Tahillah’s death.
Numb without words, Rick foolishly tried to cheer up Jonathan, while Evie goes to investigate, accompanied by Ardeth. There in Jonathan’s house, hidden in Tahillah’s belongings are the answers to their questions. Evie read what she found out about the place, that the excavation site used to be the old temple of the god Aton. Aton was the god worshipped by the heretic pharaoh Amenhotep IV, who changed his name into Akhenaton, just to please the god Aton. In the old times, the people prosecuted the King’s decision in changing beliefs by abandoning the god Amun. The priests of Amun then made a curse, that whoever set foot on the false god’s temple shall witness his family destroyed. Thus, King Amenhotep’s royal family was totally wiped out, without a single clue as to why and how… The symbol that represents the god Aton was found among Tahillah’s things, with sacred book, about communicating with the dead and with their help, she can do whatever she wants. No doubt that Tahillah loves Jonathan, for in the book, Jonathan’s name was inscribed inside along with a protection spell. Then they found out, Tahillah has a sister named Maya.
At the same time, at the excavation site… something very weird is happening. The manifestations of a mummy coming back to life are happening again. This time, he awakens to carry out the curse, and a revenge of his own…
One by one, the workers fell in the hands of Imhotep, thus, creating a rubble and chaos in the whole of Egypt, again.
Ardeth Bay, terribly alarmed about what’s happening to his people, asked Rick to help him find solution. Now, as Ardeth went to protect a town with his comrades and Rick…the mummy again came face to face with Rick and was not defeated. Ardeth and Rick went running back to the city for their lives.
Maya, who cannot hold her peace anymore, revealed the truth about their family. They are the descendants of Anak-su-Namun, the King’s wife and the High Priest Imhotep’s (Mummy) lover. There was a curse that the spirit of the high priest will not rest until he takes with him to the underworld, every female in Anak-su-Namun’s family. That’s why Jonathan’s daughters and Tahillah died. The mummy is now after Maya, preparing to end his misery, by taking the last of Anak-su-Namun’s line.
Jonathan, who had heard the story, swore to avenge his family, no matter what the cost.
However, Imhotep became more powerful than he ever was, because this time, he is being kept alive by the god Aton. Now having realized this, Evie has to find out what can defeat him. She went through al her readings once more, this time taking each detail importantly. Then she discovers…the mummy’s curse will be over if the mummy’s revenge is over, too. As long as the mummy didn’t get what he came for, the curse of priests of Amun will continue. They have to sacrifice Maya. They need to sacrifice Maya. Maya having learned this is ready to do what is right but Jonathan stubbornly stopped her. That this is his fight…L
Jonathan then secretly sought the Mummy and prepared to have a fight with him. Evie, learning this a little while later came rushing with the gang to the excavation site. Jonathan wanted to fight, but the mummy refuses to fight him, instead offered to make him his priest and be with his family if he’ll give over Maya. Jonathan then clearly confused agreed because the thought of being with his family again delighted him. He then took the girl forcibly as they descend upon the hill and ran away with her on a cloud of sand. When they reached the mummy’s lair, Jonathan offered the girl then quickly noticed that it was not Maya whom he took, but Evie, his sister…
Rick now, furious due to Evie’s kidnapping wasted no time in saving her. He went armed with Ardeth and his men. They reached the site just as the mummy is about to take Evie’s heart out…but then Jonathan jump out from nowhere and pushing Evie aside, sacrificed himself. Evie surprised by Jonathan’s act went in rage and started to take the mummy’s attention by crashing all the statuettes around her, the porcelains, the figurines, and the hieroglyphs…by so doing, Evie unknowingly releases a spirit more powerful than the Mummy…the Spirit of the goddess Isis… Isis took on command Maya’s body while Rick is busy trying to kill the mummy, to the extent of having his arm broken and his stomach burnt. Evie still in rage went about in her business… this makes Rick load…saving Evie from harm, and keeping them both alive. Then suddenly, a pillar of sand stood before them… it parted and in the middle was Maya, dressed in the most beautiful robe, with a glistening gold necklace and a scepter, she look more of Anak-su Namun than Isis… she beckoned the Mummy to come close, told him to stop, for she (Anak-su Namun) did not betray him. She loved him so, but time forbid their love to grow…whose fault was it? Was it the fault of her descendants to be born? Why will they pay for her mistake? Why should he do this to her? The mummy dumbfounded by the beauty before him stood with tears silently running on his cheeks…He loved Anak-su Namun so much he was prepared to defy the odds of hell for her… But she left him, with no remorse… now she must pay…the mummy then let out a huge scary earth shattering groan…He doesn’t want to hurt her beloved, he doesn’t want to… but something powerful is pushing him to do so…he attacked Rick once again and threw him on the air, he did the same to Evie, and the unconscious Ardeth. The Isis stretched out her hand and said…
”Come, let us be in peace together…relive our love once more…and be glad for all eternity.”
The mummy then took Maya in his arms and kissed her passionately, then he thrust his sacred knife deep into Maya’s possessed body…as the life escapes out of Maya, so is the spirit trapped inside her, simultaneous with the slowly turning of the mummy’s body to sand…as the process is completed… both spirits of Anak-su Namun and Imhotep rose together to the unknown world.
Evie and Rick lay there watching… holding each other, assuring of safety, that everything is over. However, Jonathan’s lifeless body is still there, so is Maya’s. Two precious lives sacrificed for the sake of the Mummy’s love.
